Join the Fun!
On Saturday, April 29, I will be participating in the 14th annual Mutt Strut, a pet walk (with or without a pet) benefiting the Humane Society of Indianapolis held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.(This is where the Indianapolis 500 is hosted every year!) You can join me for The Greatest Spectacle in Dog Walking by donating on my behalf or registering to walk with me. Every donation helps IndyHumane find homes for thousands of homeless animals each year.
I am going into my second year of fostering animals with INDY HUMANE. I have fostered over 23 animals in this time and I am happy to say all have found forever homes! I have a very deep passion for animals and fostering gives me the chance to save as many as I can. ( Without keeping them all) I have fostered Cats, Kittens and puppies. YES it is very hard to give them back and I get emotional every time, but I remember I have given them the best shot at getting adopted/finding a family of their own. I have only had one *Foster Fail* and that happened last April. I was taking care of a mom and 6 kittens that were only 3 days old. The mom went back to get adopted after 6 weeks. I had the kittens for another two weeks after that. I fell in love with one of the little guys and just couldn't see my life without him. His name is Domino and is best friends with CHAI now. They run all over the house together and take turns chasing each other. Since I was little and to this day I have an overbundant passion for animals. I have wanted to be a veternarian my whole life, but the fact i cannot put an animal down has hindered that dream. Fostering gives me an opportunity to still make a difference.
If you have some money to donate I would greatly appreciate it.
Current Goal is $2000 which would feed the entire shelter for A MONTH!!
EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS in the lives of these animals. The minimum donation is $5 , but that adds up very quickly! If you cannot right now I understand. Please send Chai and myself some positive thoughts on the day of Mutt Strutt or you can even volunteer some of your time at your local Humane society :)
Thanks for being apart of my life and supporting my passions,
Brittany & Chai Gamble
Last thing- FYI
Why does your contribution matter?
Your contribution matters because you are saving lives!
In 2016, IndyHumane helped 3,312 find their forever homes, and each of these animals are given an average of $700 in care. All animals are given a thorough medical exam, spayed or neutered as necessary, microchipped, and temperament-tested to make sure they are physically and mentally ready to be adopted. We are the only shelter in the state with a fully staffed medical team and surgery suite, allowing us to care for animals that come to our shelter, as well as animals who need help from other shelters and rescue groups. We believe every animal’s life is worth saving, and any funds that you raise DO make a difference!
We receive no tax dollars from our local or state governments, nor do we receive regular contributions from national organizations such as the Humane Society of the United States. Your fundraising is so important to us! We are so appreciative that you’re involved – and our animals are, too!
